Since every traveler’s journey also begins here,
we set out with unease,
understanding that our adventure
is commensurate to our telling of it, 
and that only what is already nothing will prove 
to be of some value.

Is there a hideout from the crises that stalk the planet?

No.

Have we packed well?

Portability,
transformability,
modularity:
these are our terms.


We seek acts, objects, words that can be crossed with, taken apart and reassembled, perhaps in different permutations, or in another place.


For us, invention is no matter of great leaps, but the result of freedom through variations—“one with the humble substance of everyday behavior” (George Kubler)


We first staked our tent in a city that sells itself as the higher world for art, then does everything it can to make it impossible.

How do we respond?

From our pack, we produce a book, a lesson, a gathering, a dialogue. All of them a zero. Another zero in a long lineage of many,
a zero as a relay point of impulses and resistances,
a generating center.

And so it can be said that even now,
